INCONEL® nickel-iron-chromium alloy 706 (UNS N09706) is a precipitation-hardenable alloy that provides high mechanical strength in combination with good fabricability. The characteristics of the alloy are similar to those of INCONEL alloy 718 except that alloy 706 is more readily fabricated, particularly by machining.

As a very common nickel alloy product, Inconel 706 sheet is formed by flattening and shearing cold-rolled coil. The thickness of the Inconel 706 cold-rolled sheet is generally less than 5mm. Unlike plate, Inconel 706 sheets have a brighter finish. The Inconel 706 sheet has high strength and good creep resistance at any temperature. It is more fatigue resistant than ordinary alloy sheet. In addition, oxidation resistance is also one of its excellent properties.
